The Seventh SVOD is Announced!
November 29-30, 2011
Computer History Museum, Mountain View, CA
The American Business Association of Russian-Speaking Professionals (AmBAR) is proud to announce the Seventh Annual Investment Conference "Silicon Valley Open Doors," (SVOD) which will take place on November 29-30 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California.
SVOD Conference is the first and only non-profit event of its kind that brings high-technology companies and venture capital firms from Russia, Ukraine and other Former Soviet Union (FSU) countries together with the Silicon Valley entrepreneurial community. The conference provides an unparalleled opportunity for entrepreneurs to present their projects to leading venture capitalists, learn successful venture fundraising practices, and create partnership ties within the Silicon Valley ecosystem.
This year’s SVOD conference will be held under the auspices of the Russian Innovation Center as a part of the Russian Innovation Week (November 29-December 2, 2011). The Russian Innovation Center, which was recently opened in Palo Alto, represents Russia's three largest institutions for promoting high-tech development in Russia: Russian Venture Company, Rusnano, and Skolkovo Foundation.
At SVOD, participants will discuss future technology markets, new social media paradigms, regions of innovations in the age of global markets, the role of Russian development institutes in Silicon Valley, and Skolkovo as the "system integrator" of Russian high-tech entrepreneurship. Beside panel discussions, SVOD will feature company presentations, “speed dating” for startups and VCs, keynote addresses from well-known business leaders, and abundant opportunities for networking.
Speakers at SVOD and AmBAR past events include: Igor Agamirzyan (CEO, Russian Venture Company), Sergei Beloussov (CEO, Parallels), Sergei Brin (Co-founder and President, Google), Anatoly Chubais (Chairman and CEO, Rusnano), Tim Draper (Founder and Managing Director, Draper Fisher Jurvetson), Esther Dyson (Director, 23andMe; Principal, EDventure Holdings), Vinod Khosla (Founding Partner, Khosla Ventures), Max Levchin (Co-founder, PayPal), Yuri Milner (Founder and CEO, Digital Sky Technologies), John Morgridge (Chairman, Cisco Systems), Don Valentine (Founder and Partner, Sequoia Capital), Viktor Vekselberg (CEO, Skolkovo Foundation), Arkady Volozh (CEO, Yandex), and many others.
